Field Day with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier⚽🏃🏾♂️🎾 Yesterday, Brenau’s soccer and cross country teams volunteered with kids of the Joseph F. Walters Club of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier for an afternoon of activities!Katie Dant, Brenau head cross country country coach who previously worked in the Clubs' athletics department, said she viewed the volunteer opportunity as a time to briefly step back from the chaos of pre-season preparation and focus on serving the community.“I think it’s important to be able to take a moment and take the spotlight off our athletes, and put it onto someone else,” Dant said. “If these kids leave feeling like a million bucks, and they were the most important people in our world today, then we’ve done our job.”

Brenau’s swim team was just named to the Scholar All-America Team for the 2024 spring semester!!🎉🎉A huge congratulations to these incredible Golden Tigers for earning such a prestigious honor!In order to qualify for this recognition, teams needed to have a cumulative 3.0 GPA during the spring 2024 semester. Brenau’s nine swimmers maintained a 3.82 GPA, ranking them fourth among the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics women’s teams.To read more about their accomplishment, visitbrenau.edu/news.

Having an educational moment with some scaly friends!🐍💛 Cary Sell, Brenau assistant education professor and owner of S&H Exotics, shared his knowledge of caring for and raising snakes, as well the benefits of incorporating live animals into science lessons. His presentation was held for Brenau’s cohort of visiting chemistry and biology professors from Panama, who are spending five weeks on campus learning new ideas and skills to bring back to their country.#snakes #biology #brenau #teachers #collegelife

Thanks to an annual grant renewal from the Mexican government, eight Mexican American students will receive funding for their Brenau education. The $8,000 grant is funded by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad scholarship program, also known as IME Becas.“Over the past few years, we have met some of the young people who, thanks to this support, are able to pursue their dreams,” Consulate General Francisco Javier Díaz de León said. “In many of these cases, when these young students come here to Brenau, they are the first ones ever in their family to be able to go to college.
